What is Organic Coffee?

At Bay Espresso we have chosen to roast only certified organic coffee beans.

Coffee is grown and traded in huge quantities all around world - second only to oil. Because of the huge volume and the vast areas of land dedicated to coffee plantations, the way in which coffee is grown and processed has a huge impact on our whole planet.

Organic coffee is coffee that has been grown, transported and stored without the use of chemicals and has less impact on our environment. Organic coffee farmers use environmentally sound methods which observe and consider the precious ecosystems of their farms.

Organic coffee farmers get a premium price for their coffee encouraging more farmers to revert back to sustainable farming methods with less impact.
