About us

The latest edition to the group of Bay Espresso Cafes is Bay Espresso at the Hawke’s Bay Airport and Roosters Bar.

Owners Chris and Jonelle Jarvis opened the new venture in July 2021.

Our vision for Bay Espresso is “Always Fresh, always local”. It is very important to us to use and support local business wherever possible and operate our cafes with a strong Hawke’s Bay vibe. This is an amazing growing region so in Hawke’s Bay it’s so easy to celebrate all the local produce, beer, wine and artisan products.

Bay Espresso at the airport is open every day of the year, from the first flight leaving in the early morning to the last flight leaving at night. We are inside the newly completed terminal with a bright and vibrant space facing the runway.

Our Menu

We offer a full day and night menu from Bay Espresso breakfast favourites to Roosters Burgers and seasonal specials. We also offer a full cabinet of quick grab and go options for travellers in a hurry. It is a comfortable cafe experience with great quality food, making the cafe a destination in itself rather than just an airport cafe. The airport part of the Hawke’s Bay Cycle Trails route from Napier, making the cafe a great stop off, with good bike parking, great facilities and a much needed coffee to keep your energy levels high.

At the airport we also carry a small range of artisan gift products and a full range of fresh bay espresso coffee.

We offer a full bar with locally brewed Roosters Beer (also owned by Chris and Jonelle Jarvis), and extensive range of spirits, cold drinks and good local wine list.
